Spring Door Wreaths are Up!

Do any of you still have your Christmas wreath on your door?  I got that down in January but hadn't replaced it with anything until yesterday.  I am so excited about the result I had to show it off!  My new house (new to us) has double   doors so I have had to start over on door decorations since we moved in.  I found supplies at Paul Michael's and tucked and wired flowers and ribbon onto 2 loop style twig wreaths to get the result you see here!  It makes me happy!  I love pink and green and the giant checks on this ribbon scream Spring!!!  I haven't had any flower arranging training (as you can see) but I tuck and twist until it looks good to me.  If you use good materials, I think you can make most anything look good!  After 4 months of nothing, my doors are very happy!  What's on your front door?  Hope you'll share a picture or comment!
I haven't forgotten about posting the gift tag box and designs, just having a little download trouble.  Will get to it soon!  Also will share pics from tomorrow night's Craft Dinner so stay tuned.

Spring Musings

Ahhh!  Spring in The Delta!  A gentle rain is falling, the birds are singing, and the world outside my window is the perfect shade of lime green!  Life is sweet!  Can't wait to get started on today's projects.  Want to make a collection of gift cards for my daughter-in-law for Mother's Day.  She is a knitter and I've been planning to use Stampin' Up's "Hand Knit" stamp set to make cards she can put with the items she knits as gifts for her friends and family.  Will post as soon as I'm done.  Also saw a gorgeous window box at Paper Crown in OKC several years ago made from a cigar box.  Jess told me what her favorite Jamie picture was so I want to surprise her with the project.    Spring pics and project results to come!

Sent with Love by Stampin' Up Makes Cute Layout and Favors!

We survived the thunderstorm, and numerous storms since then.  Their are beautiful white azaleas blooming outside my window across the front of the house thanks to the previous owners.  The Mississippi Delta has the priviledge of having 4 seasons and I have enjoyed welcoming each of them.  Since it's our first year in this house, we are constantly surprised and delighted by what comes up in the yard.  Found a wonderful nursery nearby owned by a very sweet Menonite lady who sure knows her stuff!

As for my new business venture, I hold my first official Stampin' Up Workshop tomorrow so should probably be making party favors instead of blogging.  Have 5 ladies coming with plans for an evening group already scheduled in May.  I'm highlighting layouts made with the Sent With Love Stamp Set and paper which expires at the end of April.
The bags are filled with a rubber stamp and homemade chocolate chip cookies!  Love, love, love the versatility of this set.  It would be so cute for party favors, lunch bags, baseball team treat bags, baby showers (special delivery - get it!!).  I used the "Time Flies" theme and a train picture which actually looks a little like the inside of an airplane!  I didn't think I had any pics that would fit besides travel, but focusing on Time Flies let's you use anything!  Hope you like it!

Elegant butterflies and doilies
revised from Spring Catalog

We'll make two cards in the workshop.  I started with the doily card from the spring catalog and made
some revisions.  Just had to use those Elegant Butterfly stamps and punches!  The new lace tape works really well too!  Projects are ready and in baggies for tomorrow but need to make the rest of the party favor bags and set the table.  This is the perfect job for me!  I get to entertain, celebrate all the holidays, party, and make fun stuff!  I promise to do better at adding things to the blog.  Have lots to show you but better get ready for tomorrow first!

The Journey Begins

I always wanted to have my own business - something creative where I could share ideas and inspiration with fellow crafters/designers.  The problem was finding time and deciding exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up!  Now that I've retired from education after 26 years and moved from Texas to a very, very small town in Mississippi, I find my life has just begun!  I'm so excited to share my journey into the world of designing, creating a business, starting over, blogging and websites, scrapbooking, and creating and enjoying beauty.  So my story begins, here in The Delta, on a stormy night, with my first blog post - at least until the power goes out or my sketchy internet decides otherwise!

Some things are just meant to be.  When my husband told me he had a job offer in Stoneville, Mississippi, I googled surrounding towns but couldn't find much.  Then God put the wheels in motion and I realized I qualified for retirement, we sold our house in 11 days (thank you Daxton Satery in Corpus Christi!), we found the perfect house in Stoneville that wasn't even on the market yet (thank you Gaila Oliver in Leland!), and we closed on one house and moved into another within 2 weeks!  I am still shaking my head in disbelief!  Storm is getting worse so more later!  Is anyone actually out there reading this?  Here's a pic of what I like to do!  More later!
