Scrap Diva Day Camp - Almost Here!

Sneak Peek at Scrap Diva Day Camp
"Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah
Here I am at
Camp Grenada ......."

Do any of you remember that song?  We're gearing up for my kind of camp July 27- Scrap Diva Day Camp!  Can't wait to welcome 12 "campers" to my home for a day of scrapping, cookouts, make and takes, goody bags, and more!  No bugs, no snakes - just air conditioned comfort!  Who will win Cleanest Cabin Award?  or Friendliest Camper?  It will be a day of fun and friendship and I'm soooo excited!  Here's the cover of the mini album we're making - I'll share the rest after camp - it's a closely guarded secret!  Today I am finalizing the make and take plans and designs so get your bling on campers!  Can't wait to see you!

Road trip tomorrow to Sheila Brown's Stamp Club in Brandon, MS!  Sheila has been so sweet to share ideas and help me get my Stampin' Up business started.  I look forward to spending the afternoon with her stamp club and learning more about how to be a successful demonstrator!  Thank you Sheila!

Summer is in full swing in The Delta - the drive through the farmland on the way to town is beautiful!  The corn here grows taller than a man and the soy beans are mid thigh high!  I've never seen anything like it!  The Crepe Myrtle outside my window is a deep red and in full bloom.  Larry brought in 2 green peppers and 2 huge yellow squash from his garden today.  Life is sweet!

Be sure to click the "follow" link so you'll get updates when posts are added.  Next time I'll share pictures from camp and all the make and takes.  Stay cool - literally!          - Lynda

New Catalog Is Out!!!

The 2013-14 Stampin' Up Catalog is out and you're gonna love it!  So many cute ideas I can't decide what to do next.  I am going to try to make a link here but if it doesn't work you can always go to the catalog at my Stampin' Up Website at www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net

So far the Gingham Garden Designer Paper and new In Colors are my favorites but there are so many possibilities I can't get to them fast enough!  If you're close by, join us for monthly workshops or the upcoming Scrap Diva Day Camp in July (TBA).

Mojo Monday 297

Here's my first attempt at a Mojo Monday challenge from
mojomonday.blogspot.com.  I used Stampin' Up's Gingham Garden and new vintage buttons to bring on the sunshine!  Hope you like it.
Need feedback on good cameras for posting pics on web.  My cell phone pics just don't translate well.  I have an iphone 5 and it takes good pics.

SU's Gingham Garden Card

Love, love, love Stampin' Up's new Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper!  Made a fun birthday card from a design by Jana Edward's of Jana's Creations.  Then I used scraps to make name tags for my outgoing orders.  Too fun!  Love the summery feel!

Stampin' Up Summer Journal is a Hit!

We had so much fun making Summer Travel Journals with Stampin' Up's pop bottle caps and Collage Curios stamp set!  I found the hard back journals at Wal-Mart for $2.77 each.  I tried the Crockpot Lasagna recipe shared by my Facebook friends - so yummy!  Great friends, good food, and of course crafting made for the perfect summer evening!

I'm ready for another workshop!  Thinking a Scrap Diva Day Camp might be fun for July.  We could have somores, arts and crafts, camp party favors, contests, scrapbooking, make and takes - Diva style - no bugs, snakes, and fully air conditioned!  Has anybody done something like that?  Would love to hear about it!

Tornado Missed Us in OKC!

I was at my mom's in Oklahoma City when the El Reno tornado hit.  The sirens went off so we spent about an hour in her cellar with my uncle, brother, 2 neighbors, and 2 dogs.  We watched the storm turn away from us on the radar on my brother's computer and could get live feeds from the news reporters.  We could never really hear the storm and the electricity stayed on so morale was high and we actually enjoyed visiting with everyone while we waited.  My mom had just had major surgery so but the pain killers seemed to keep her happy and she did just fine.  We emerged after the storm to a flooded street and yard caused by 6-8 inches of rain.  My sister left her car at mom's and as you can see the water was over the tires  (the cup holders were full of water inside the next morning).  We were very lucky.  Not everyone was.  I believe at least 8 people lost their lives that night.  Please continue your prayers and assistance to the people of Oklahoma City affected by numerous storms this year.  Many are still hurting and struggling to recover from the devestation.

Spring Door Wreaths are Up!

Do any of you still have your Christmas wreath on your door?  I got that down in January but hadn't replaced it with anything until yesterday.  I am so excited about the result I had to show it off!  My new house (new to us) has double   doors so I have had to start over on door decorations since we moved in.  I found supplies at Paul Michael's and tucked and wired flowers and ribbon onto 2 loop style twig wreaths to get the result you see here!  It makes me happy!  I love pink and green and the giant checks on this ribbon scream Spring!!!  I haven't had any flower arranging training (as you can see) but I tuck and twist until it looks good to me.  If you use good materials, I think you can make most anything look good!  After 4 months of nothing, my doors are very happy!  What's on your front door?  Hope you'll share a picture or comment!
I haven't forgotten about posting the gift tag box and designs, just having a little download trouble.  Will get to it soon!  Also will share pics from tomorrow night's Craft Dinner so stay tuned.
Please visit my website for the last chance at retiring Stampin' Up products.  The new catalog starts May 31st!  Go to  www.lyndafalconer.stampinup.net

Spring Musings

Ahhh!  Spring in The Delta!  A gentle rain is falling, the birds are singing, and the world outside my window is the perfect shade of lime green!  Life is sweet!  Can't wait to get started on today's projects.  Want to make a collection of gift cards for my daughter-in-law for Mother's Day.  She is a knitter and I've been planning to use Stampin' Up's "Hand Knit" stamp set to make cards she can put with the items she knits as gifts for her friends and family.  Will post as soon as I'm done.  Also saw a gorgeous window box at Paper Crown in OKC several years ago made from a cigar box.  Jess told me what her favorite Jamie picture was so I want to surprise her with the project.    Spring pics and project results to come!
