Hats off to the Cleveland Craft Club who got in the Easter spirit last Tuesday with a craft night at Ella Rose. Downtown Cleveland, MS is beautiful and Ella Rose is a "To Die For" fabric shop with beautiful fabrics and trims for quilting and sewing projects. They do lots of fun classes so be sure to stop by if you're in the area.
I had a blast with this group of ladies making an Easter treat box and card. They were very creative and each box had it's own special flair! The decoration on the box lifts off to reveal a see through window so you get a peek at the treats inside. We filled our boxes with a decorated sugar cookie. Just the thing for someone very special!

Little Blue House Blooms at Scrapbook Expo
It was a delight to visit with the owner Tracy Pounds and co-manager Rhonda Merry about The Little Blue House in Keller, Texas. It will definitely be on my vacation list next time I get near Dallas. So many of their customers stopped by the booth while I was there and said the shop was just like going home! You could sense the devotion and mutual admiration the customers and the store owners had for each other!
I bought several layouts and they were kind enough to let me take pictures of all their design samples. They have an extensive class list showing a variety of classes including mixed media. Please add their blog http://www.thelittlebluehouseblog.blogspot.com to your favorites and give them a visit any time you're north of Dallas. Tell them Lynda Falconer from Stoneville, Mississippi sent you!

Hats off to The Little Blue House!!! These photos really don't do the projects justice. Let me know if you have been there. Would love to see pics of the real store and projects you've tried.

Scrapbook Expo and Jenni Bowlin Designs!
The layouts at the Jenni Bowlin booth at Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, Texas really caught my eye. They were simple and had a cool, vintage vibe.

But I fell in love with the mini cigar box diorama of the little boy sleeping on the cotton ball clouds amidst gold glitter stars. Soooo sweet! Of course I had to buy all the stuff to make it and I have the perfect sleeping little boy pic to use. Can't wait to get to that project! Next stop is Little Blue House booth with the sweetest ladies and most talented designers you'll ever meet!

Scrapbook Expo Inspiration

Scrapbook Expo was held in February at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. The vendors were great to allow me to take pictures so I'll share all the goodies I found as well as highlights from the crops and classes. Today I'll start with the Melissa Frances booth. Beautiful shades of pastels and whites made all her displays so dreamy and romantic. Loved the simple layout above but the 3-tiered fru fru wall hanging blew me away.

The final wall art below has a mini album behind the picture frame. It is tied closed with the bow. How cool is that???
Next stop is Jenni Bowlin's booth for the cutest mini cigar box diorama you've ever seen!

Sweet Sorbet Debut and Scrapbook Expo Preview
For a quick party favor, I decorated miniature envelopes made with Stampin' Up's new envelope maker. It has a Ghiradelli chocolate square tucked inside. I made 30 of these and they are all different. They are decorated from embellishments I punched or had in my stash. If you need instructions for making the file folders, just leave a comment and I'll post them. I CASEd (copy and share everything) the idea from Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty website. She has a great 1 Minute to WOW video that shows you how.
Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, Texas was A-MAZING and I am anxious to post all the great ideas I got from both vendors and classes. Here's a sneak peak from the Melissa Frances booth. This was one of 3 panels in a wall hanging. More deliciousness to come!! ... Lynda

Love Is In the Air with SU Hearts A Flutter
Celebrate the ones you love with a heart themed banner using SU Hearts a Flutter Framelit Die and the "love" from the Expressions Framelit Die. I used a 5 x 7 white card base and covered it with Real Red cardstock then polka dot designer paper from the Christmas pack. A white doily gave it texture with a triple string of baker's twine to hold the banner. Shapes from Hearts A Flutter were cut from the new Spring Catalog Designer Stack and decorated with a brad, pearls, and fabric flower. A touch of blue ribbon completes the look. Perfect for a special Valentine or to tell someone how special they are! Happy Valentine's Day!
